Maktab HQ is a school workspace operated by Vertek Ventures LLC, a Virginia limited liability company ("we", "us"). These terms apply to the organization that opens a Maktab HQ workspace (the "school") and to everyone the school invites. By creating a workspace or accepting an invitation you agree to them.

Accounts

The person who opens a workspace becomes its owner and agrees to these terms for the school. The school decides who to invite and what role each person has, and is responsible for activity in its workspace. Keep access to your email secure, because sign-in codes are sent there.

School data

The school owns the records it adds, such as students, attendance, lessons, report cards and contacts. We use them only to provide Maktab HQ to the school, as described in our Privacy Policy. The school confirms it has the right to add these records, including any consent it needs from parents or guardians.

Trial, plans and payment

A new workspace starts with a 30-day free trial with no card needed. After the trial the school chooses a plan to keep adding and editing records. Plans are billed monthly or yearly in advance through Stripe and renew automatically until cancelled. Prices are shown before checkout, and we will give at least 30 days' notice of a price change to an existing plan.

If a payment fails, the workspace stays fully usable for 7 days while the payment is retried. After that it becomes read-only: the school can still see and export its records and update billing, but cannot add or change them until the plan is paid.

Cancellation and refunds

The owner can cancel at any time from Billing. The plan stays active until the end of the period already paid for and does not renew. Payments already made are not refunded, except where the law requires it or where we decide to at our discretion.

Acceptable use

Do not use Maktab HQ to break the law, to harm or harass anyone, to access another school's data, to probe or disrupt the service, or to resell it. We may suspend access that puts other schools or the service at risk, and will tell the owner when we do.

Online tuition payments

If a school collects tuition through Maktab HQ, payments go to the school's own Stripe account and are also covered by Stripe's terms. The school is responsible for its fees, refunds and disputes with families.

Availability and changes

We work to keep Maktab HQ available and secure, but it is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We may improve or change features. If we make a material change to these terms we will tell workspace owners before it takes effect.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount the school paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

Ending the service

A school can stop using Maktab HQ at any time and can export its records first. We delete a closed workspace's records as described in the Privacy Policy. If we ever discontinue Maktab HQ we will give owners at least 30 days' notice to export their data.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia. Maktab HQ is operated by Vertek Ventures LLC, Virginia, United States.
